Summer is in full swing here. Even though it’s mild year round, there’s nothing quite like a Hawaiian summer. The water is so warm and the ocean breeze feels so refreshing. There definitely is a slower rhythm (if that is even possible!) during the summer. I try to spend as much time as I can outside in and out of the water. Whether it’s surfing or paddling, every chance I can get in the water on my free time is well spent. I’ve always loved summer ever since I was a child. It is such a carefree and whimsical time, all inhibitions left at the door.
Picnics, barbecues, cookouts, dinner parties…all are most welcomed and celebrated in summer. I find that is such an ideal time to reconnect to loved ones and friends now that we have the time and gorgeous weather. I encourage you to make the effort to gather a few of your best friends or family and head out, leaving the phones behind. Summer is all about creating memories and now is the time to start making it a tradition. For some ideas, check out my latest picnic recipes in my other journal posts.
Wish you a wonderful and peaceful summer full of beautiful memories spent outside,
